Alps rentals now less costly for Brits, as pound hits 7-year high

Are you thinking of renting an Alps villa or penthouse apartment? If so, you will be interested to know that holidaying in the Alps will now a lot cheaper, because the pound has hit a 7-year high versus the euro, at 1.34

What this means for you is that, when you exchange currencies to rent an Alps holiday home, you’ll receive far more euros. An average family holiday for 4 (2 adults and two children) for a week will cost about £2000; you will get get an extra 380 euros now (Feb 2015) than you would have got less than 2 years ago.

Of course, for those looking to buy a holiday home the savings are very significant indeed. For example, if you were to exchange £125,000 for a villa in the Alps, you’d now receive +€23,750 more than if you’d done so back in July 2013, when the pound was far weaker.

So, renting a luxury Alps villa or penthouse apartment, whether it is in Drouzin le Mont or not is now much more affordable than any time in the recent past. From a currency point of view, it’s the ideal time to holiday in the Alps!
