Winter sports in Les Iris (Drouzin le Mont). February 2010

In the spring break we were guests of the apartment and because we  liked it so much we want to express this.

We arrived on Saturday after a journey that really went smoothly.

An hour before the navigation indicated that we would arrive, we called Pascal, who receive the guests on behalf of Judith and Wal.

When we arrived at our apartment, it was warm and everything was all connected.

The apartment was quickly divided and there was for everyone a nice sleeping place, we were with a group of 9 people so I can recommend the apartment to anyone travelling with a group.

When the bags were unpacked, we collected the children’s skis in Morzine. We had already ordered these in the Netherlands, which is very easily done through http://skiverhuur.twinner-sports.com and we liked the price.

We (I mean our family and my brother and his girlfriend) were this week culinary spoiled by my parents, who used  the kitchen frequently.

After we had eaten each evening the dishes went straight  in the dishwasher so that is very handy if you enjoy a wonderful holiday.

It is also quite useful with children in winter that there is a washing machine so you can go on vacation without a trailer.

In front of the apartment (1 down stairs) is the ski resort of Drouzin Le Mont, where we skied the first day. This is an area where you can have a lot of fun as a beginner.

The apartment is at 1250 meter altitude so we (as any did fall from the sky) only seen snow.

We continued our vacation in the area of Morzine / Les Gets where the children had a great time at the international ski school.

We stayed only in these places but if you want it is possible in this area to ski for a week and descend different pistes every day.

The ride to Morzine is good to drive and gives you really the feel of winter sports holiday, you really drive in the mountains but the roads are kept very clean. Even the parking lot of the apartment.

En route from Morzine to the apartment or the other way you will find a big Carrefour and the choice, is giant!

If you have children in the age that they prefer to have Dutch ski instructors it is advisable to reserve classes in the Netherlands. Our children (6, 10 and 12) have had lessons in English / French and have, although they sometimes had a small language barrier, had a wonderful week, we were in Morzine ESF (French Ski School) where the Dutch teachers provide lesson but they were all occupied, especially in spring break when many Dutch like us find this beautiful area.

What we particularly like to make clear with this article is that you will have a wonderful holiday in this beautiful and spacious apartment in an area where you can enjoy skiing.
